Keepers Kolor War-Hot Shoppes Revival
This year’s edition of Keeper’s Kolor War celebrates the Kulinary Doo-Wop Era with a Hot Shoppes Revival. Freshen your palate and join us in this year’s 27-hole team kompetition on Saturday July 19th as a member of the Hot Fudge Ice Cream Cakes, Orange Freezes, Teen Twists, or Mighty Mo’s.
The event will be played Saturday morning at 7:30 to 8:00 am with back-to-back nine-hole two-man formats, followed by a Hot Shoppes themed lunch and a final afternoon nine at 1:oo. Four teams of six to eight players will compete in 9-holes of alternate shot match play first-each hole is worth 2 points for an available 18 points per foursome. The second nine, same partners, will play a double best/almost best ball match so there are effectively two matches going at the same time in each foursome. 36 points available for each foursome in the second stanza. After lunch foursomes made up of one player from each food group of similar handicap will play Almost Skins (7/5/3/1 points per hole) for an available 63 points per team.
The members of the winning team get $100 Kash Sweeps per person with $50 Kash Sweeps per person for the runner-up team. Individual points from matches will be tallied with the top five individual finishers getting 300, 200, 150, 100, and 50 Keepers Kup points respectively. There is no entry fee for the event so all the winnings are net.
Come and help us celebrate the revival of an institution from our youth that actually started in 1927 (that would be Herbie Cherner’s youth). This is always a fun and spirited event, even without songfest. Slots are limited so sign up early or miss out on the Might Mo special sauce opportunity.
