Keepers Wounded Warriors Fund Raisers: Event Sign Up
Sign up now for a pair of Keepers fund raising events for the Folds of Honor/SMGA Wounded Warriors Fund on Tuesday July 28 from 2:30 to 7 p.m. A unique opportunity for some golf with friends followed by a fascinating presentation of two wonderful golf course coffee table books in one of the inaugural events in our newly renovated clubhouse. These events are open to all Woodmont members so please join us and bring some friends.
Wounded Warrior Golf Fund Raiser
Starting at 2:30 The Keepers will have a Keepers & Friends 9-Hole event to celebrate the Planet Golf Book Presentation and to raise money for our annual donation to the Folds of Honor/SMGA Wounded Warriors organizations. This will be a fun format open to all Keepers, spouses, Woodmont friends, and outside guests-$20 a player plus cart fee (no guest fees are required)-with half the money going to support our charities. There will be multiple divisions so lots of sweeps prizes to pass out to those enjoying the day in an individual Stableford format with 90% handicaps to all participants. We hope that after a shower and a freshen up all the players will stay to enjoy the cocktail reception which follows at 5:30 in the special events room upstairs in the clubhouse.
Planet Golf Presentation and Book Signing
Darius Oliver, an international journalist and expert in Golf Course Design and Architecture, will be the feature guest at the Planet Golf cocktail reception at 5:30 p.m. He is the author of two vivid coffee table golf books you should have in your golf library called “Planet Golf” and “Planet Golf USA”. Each book is full of amazing course photos by John and Jeannine Henebry, David Scaletti, and other celebrated golf photographers. Having played over a thousand courses around the world, Oliver provides an eye for the tradition and grandeur of over 100 top courses in each book. If you are a golf traveler you will find books to be a wonderful reference resource to planning a trip to or reliving a memorable experience from the best courses in the world.
After cocktails and hors d’oeuvres Darius will make a presentation of the making of his books and his views on course design around the world. Following his presentation and conversation, those attending will be able to purchase personalized signed copies of the two books for $40 each or $70 for the pair-$10 of each book sale will go to support our military charity fund.
