Keepers Black & Green 5-Club 2017
Our next Keepers X event will be a make-up game on Tuesday Night July 11th with Tee Times from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. For this 9-hole event, at the suggestion of one Zee Adivsor, we will try a new twist on an old Keepers favorite we hold near and dear to our hearts.
The format will be a “Black & Green 5-Club” played on the front of the South with your (5) favorite clubs (one more than the old 4-Club) and 100% of your Back Tee handicap.
But the twist, and why you need the extra club, is that you will play holes 1-3-5-7-9 from the Black Tees and holes 2-4-6-8 from the Green Tees. For those with the Blue/Green Combo Option you will play the odd holes from the Blue Tees and even holes from the White Tees.
The distance adjustment caused by varying teeing position puts a whole new spin on picking your clubs of the day. Do my club choices cover the two par threes (both from a forward tee)…..Do I need driver now since I am playing the tips (so to speak) on the odd holes…..do I really need a putter or can I putt with a field club…..what do I do if I hit it in a sand trap?
All good questions that a thoughtful Keeper must consider.
This is always a fun event and your creative planning on the clubs that will accompany you for the round will be critical.
