US Open Logo 2022This year’s Keepers Beat The Pro pitted 51 Keepers against a randomly selected Virtual Pro’s score from the first round of the U.S. Open at The Country Club in, our fair city, Boston, MA.  Guys got 110% of their handicap in these head-to-head matches and, as it turned out, some needed it more than others.

Jimmy “Boom-Boom” Poslky dusted Dustin “LIV” Johnson for 29 points winning 8 holes along the way to take first place in the American Division.  Arnie “20/20” Miller took down the Englishman Justin Rose for second scoring 27 points with a four hole run from 5 through 8 on the North which included a net eagle and two net birdies.  Third place was Don “Starfish” Fisher outplaying the U.S. Open Champion Matt Fitzpatrick with 25 points. Starfish took 4 of the last 5 holes in a late rush to a back door third.  As you can see below a flock of four scored 24 points to tie for fourth in the American.

Stealing against koach’s sign, Eddie “First and Third Nobody Out” Cohen jumped the National Division with a harrowing performance of 33 points winning 9 holes against Rose.  Nary a sand bunker did he visit all day on the rugged North which is why Justin only took three holes against him.  Playing superbly with 32 points against Jon Rahm, Steve “So What Are We Playing For” Keller took three of the first four on the Spaniard and never looked back taking second in the Nationals.  Richard “North By Northwest” North took down Xander Schauffle shooting a net 66 for 30 points and third place.  Alan “Terp Station” Schwartz, Nelson “Nellie” Cohen, and Harry “The Komeback Kid” Harrison took fourth and fifth places respectively to fill out the money in the National Division.
