Keepers Pinehurst Glenmorangie 2022-Results
Every year about this time we send out friends to play in a Pinehurst Scotch alternate shot format and hope they remain as such after they are done. 19 teams kompeted in this year’s event and there were some sterling two-man performances that held the day.
The team of Marc “The Bronx Bantam” Fink and Richard “The Barrister” Goldstein K.O.ed the field with a 6 birdie 1 Eagle performance shooting Net 35-33-68 on the North Course to take the top prize. The first eight holes they just had it on cruise control but starting at the 9th they reeled off 3 birdies in four holes to get themselves under par. Adding an eagle on 15 and a birdie on 17 it was clear sailing to the finish line.
Second Place went to Don “Mr. Tell” Greenberg and Alan “Terp Station” Schwartz who shot net 70 in a roller coaster performance with thrills and spills. A double bogey on 1 put a bad taste in their mouth, but from 3 through 9 they karded 4 birdies and 2 eagles to shoot net 31 going out. All four hands firmly on the wheel they guided it home with 39 on the back to lock down second place.
Tied third at Net 71 were the teams of Rich “Sweetman” Sussman and Mark “Acute” Engel and Marc “Fine Grind” Birnbaum and Howard “Long Ball” Wollner. Tied for 5th with Net 72 were the duos of Ron “Eight Days A Week” Kleinman and Alan “Lowl” Levine and Mark “The Historian” Miller and Mike “I’m Buying” Selis.
Thanks to Cody and the gang for running this event today.
