Keepers Three Tee Eighteen 2023-Results
The opening Keepers Event of the year, the Three Tee Eighteen, was played today on the North Course in glorious Spring weather. It was a tightly kontested kompetition that identified those players with the mental toughness to handle ever-changing challenges through the round.
We will split the field into American and National Divisions (handicap indexes of 14.7 or lower and 14.8 or higher respectively). The American guys played from the Blue Tee on holes 1 to 6, the Gold Tee on holes 7 to 12, and the Green Tee coming home on holes 13 to 18. National players played from the Gold Tee on holes 1 to 6, the Green Tee on holes 7 to 12, and the White Tee on holes 13 to 18.
In the American Division Arnie “20/20” Miller took first place with a balanced attack methodically making 10 birdies on the way to shooting a net 32-33-65. Tied second were “Kaptin” Keith Eig and Phil “Borscht Belt” Schulman two back at net 67. Keith had 7 birdies spread across his 18. Phil was a bit sluggish on the front side with 38, but blitzed the back nine in 29 net strokes including net eagles on 13 and 15. The rest of the American players kashing in on Keepers Sweeps are listed below.
The Nationals were even a couple better where Bobby “Jack LaLane” Fogel used his 18 handicap strokes effectively on his way to a scintillating 31-33-64 net to take top prize. Harry “The Komeback Kid” Harrison was one back with net 65 that included a 30 on the inward nine with an eagle and four birdies. Taking third alone was Burt “Kuddly Bear” Feldman with four birdies on the last six holes on the way to net 67. A strong kast of karacters filled out the last 6 winning spots.
Thanks to all 50 Keepers who participated and a special Kudos to Cody for administering today’s kompetition.
